As I remember your son also has ODD right? Does Strattera effect his mood? I am thinking of trying it on Joiner at the end of school, but am scared to death. Two ADHD meds (Ritlain & Dexedrine) affected him terribly. And bipolar kids should not take any kind of antidepressant, which strattera has antidepressant qualities. They really shouldn't take any kind of stimulant, but we tried that with disastrous results, so we need something. He is currently taking Adderall XR 20 mil. Which isn't curbing all the symptoms, he also takes 5 mil at 3:15(when he gets home from school) for homework, or we never get it done.

TIA

Kevin has ODD in addition to the ADHD. Concerta for ADHD helped the ODD behaviors tremendously (to the point of making them disappear, almost!) He's now on Strattera (60 mg) but they added back 18 mg of Concerta as the Strattera alone wasn't working. Have not noticed any mood-changes in him. Sometimes he gets more upset (weepy) but that's rare. We've been lucky in that there have been no negative side effects from the Strattera. Since Strattera a non-stimulant, it might be a good option for you. For us, the extra boost of Concerta (a stimulant) was needed.
