Nancy,

thank you for all of your help! Today I tried something different. I gave Bryce his adderall, I cut his other two pills that put him asleep in half. My child was an angel today! Instead of playing out side he wanted to do school work all day, he colored wrote his alphabet, wrote his numbers over and over again, drew pictures to give to his teacher, vacuumed my floors and had to drag him to bed because he wouldn't stop folding laundry. He didn't even take a nap today. This was not my 5 year old. I was so proud of him today. I know it is only 1 day and Monday he may be awful again but I will cut pills in half again before school and hope for the same day as today. I am still going to call the peditrician in the morning. I have learned so much from you already from the post and from your website it is all great! The peditrcian said adhd and odd to answer your previous question. Thanks Stacey

Nancy,

Thanks for the reply. The DR. said that if cutting his morning doses in half to keep him from sleeping is working than that is fine to do. It seems to be working great but I have to remember it has only been a few days but life the last few days has been alot better with Bryce at home and at school to. I made a chart for Bryce to take to school with the days of the week on it and enough room for comments, and labeled it Bryce's daily report so that the teacher can cummunicate with me on a daily basis and I can let her know daily how the morning was so she will also know what to expect throughout the day, and how much medication he is on daily, and she sends her comments to me on how his day was. This keeps me from calling the school daily checking on him and from wondering at the end of the day how his behavior was that day. So far so good!!

Thanks for listening and caring

Daily communication with the teacher is important ... it also lets DS know that you and the teacher are on the same page, working as a team.

Hello,

Bryce had a not so good day today. The teacher sent home a note telling me that Bryce has a headache all day long the last few days. I am sure that this is a side affect. Is there anything I can do to prevent him from a headache daily?

thanks Stacey
