Hi, and welcome
It really depends on what type of ADHD she has, and what issues you are dealing with. There is no natural or alternative remedy that I know of that will help with Focus, they mostly
A child may HAVE ADHD, but it is not what they ARE. Never tell a child they ARE ADHD.
I'll let the doctors answer this...
WHAT ABOUT “NATURAL” THERAPIES?At this time, there is no evidence that natural therapies are therapeutic. There are many anecdotes about various cures for ADHD, but none have been found to be valid. Remember: multiple anecdotes do not mean proof. Natural therapies such as grape seed extract, blue algae, biofeedback, magnets, megavitamins, diet, and other “natural products” have not yet shown any lasting therapeutic benefit. At this time traditional medical therapy is the most effective treatment for ADHD. This is quite similar to other medical treatments such as insulin, THE best form of treatment for Type 1 diabetes, or thyroid pills THE best therapy for inactive thyroid gland. Furthermore, natural health food treatments are not regulated by the government and are therefore highly suspect for contamination. Please be cautious when experimenting with alternative therapies on your family members.
From personal experience, and I hope I do not offend anyone, we have had HUGE success with naturopathics.
My son has been seeing a naturopathic doctor for over a year now (it's not cheap, but I still found it totally worth it), I found a Canadian famous one near where I live and it has been the best decision of my life, for both myself, my son and my youngest son.
My son also takes Adderal though, I did both 'medicine' and then the homeopathic and western botanical.
That's one of the reasons why I'm here.
Omega's do work, and some other alternatives work well also, they take time.
ADHD was present in my DD before she ever saw the inside of a classroom, so not sure how the school could have caused it. She has ADHD due to PANDAS, but most kids are born with it. Same is true for ODD, Autism, Aspergers etc.
I'm new here and highly doubt I'll endear myself by quoting from books that delve into the history of the Women's Liberation Movement, how societal attitudes have changed towards some masculine traits, the evolution of the syndromes, how Big Pharma and the Education System benefit from the syndromes and exactly why most of the syndromes weren't mentioned prior to the 1990's.
Just for the record.
Hi, sure i will share.
DD had a raging case of Strep throat @ 5, constant ear infections from 6-8 months to about 6, and frankly nothing got rid of them. She had tubes X9 by the time she was 6. Eventually her ENT sent us to TX Childrens Hospital because he suspected PANDAS, and they did testing, put her on a course of anti's for about 10 weeks, and it finally went away, the sore throat anyway.
I noticed after the Anti's that she was having trouble focusing on things,
I'm lost with your post.
