New here and a bit overwhelmed...

Hello, I am new here.
I used to be on IVillage all the time, but then life got crazy.
Anyway, my 5 year old son was recently diagnosed with ADHD.

Strattera is nothing like Adderall, not even in the same med class. It is a Norephineprine reuptake inhibitor, whereas Adderall is a CNS stimulant Strat is a 24 hour med, but taking it in the evenings makes kids drowsy and helps them sleep.
They do work well together though, Concerta and Strat. DD took that combo for a while.
A child may HAVE ADHD, but it is not what they ARE. Never tell a child they ARE ADHD.
I didn't mean that the Concerta/Strattera combination was a mix of amphetamine and dextroamphetamine, but that each works differently, just like the two ingred. in Adderall, and that it's easier on the body to take at two different times at day, whereas Adderall is a very strong med. that combines two different meds and is taken once a day.
Thank you all again for all the advice.
