anyone elses ADHD kiddo ALWAYS have something in there mouth. This has been an issue since he was young. Been given different explanations to bad parenting to hang ups over feeding issues as a baby then in first grade he chewed pencils in class by chewed I mean litterly ate them. The OT said it was a sign of self focusing so now given the ADHD official diagnosis wondering if it could have been the case all along.
Now we do correct the behavior when we see it. Last summer DH coworker lost a son by choking on a toy and DH REALLY cracked down, now when we catch him we use the straw method they do in school but looking for ways to get him OUT of the habbit because his little brother sees it and mimics EVERYTHING he does and its not just toys its clothing its pillows its blankets and I have run out of options and its driving us crazy
