Please help! my kid cant sleep!

ok. im getting frustrated over here lol! this is day 4 of adderal xr 5 mg. dd is 9 , 53 pounds. she has ALWAYS taken 3mg melationin at night to help her sleep and she passes out within 30-40 minutes after that.

The problem is that she is at the max adult dose for Melatonin. when she started it did you work up to that dose? We have always used .33mgs, so DD could feasibly take 9 more pills before she was at 3 mgs.
The only thing I can think of is stopping the Melatonin, and maybe trying benadry for a day or two, then going back to the lowest Melatonin dose and working up.
A child may HAVE ADHD, but it is not what they ARE. Never tell a child they ARE ADHD.
hum... yeah when her last doc (moved) started her on melatonin to help sleep we started a 1mg. and then worked up. at 2mg she will wake up druing the night mist nights, wide awake and refreshed lol! so she said to try 3. thats were we have been for a few years and its almost always worked except now it the adderal added.
