My son will be 5 in a month and was dx with Adhd in December with possible bipolar but the doctor is going slow at this rate. He takes .5mg Methylin in the am and lunch, 2mg Intuniv in the am, .25mg Risperidone @3pm and bedtime. He was on trazadone up till yesterday when we started Risperidone instead. He was seeing things and hearing voices so the doctor switched his meds some. Now we are off trazadone totally with a quick stop and he is emotional and out of it.

Hi, my DS is 11 and was diagnosed with ADHD at age 7 (although we suspected at age 5).

This is such a heavy med for a child not even 5...please be

The only experience I have had with it is in an older child, It is used to treat Schizophrenia. I would hesitate to use that type of med in achild that age. 5 is really very young for an ADHD diagnosis, and when adding BP to the mix it is tricky to diagnose.

Have yu considered the ADHD meds as causing the problems?
