Anyone's child have sensory integration disorder or sensory processing disorder/dysfuntion (I think they are the same thing).
We are looking into this, I have known since a LONG time that he def has some sensory issues.
Looking into private testing, not sure how they test for this.
He's 5.5 years old, and his main sensory issues tend to be oral.
DD has SID, it is very common in kids with ADHD, and can even be misdiagosed as ADHD.
I knew DD had something else, and from about age 3 on she HATED clothes, they "bothered" her. It's one thing for a 3yo to be naked, entirely different for a 4-5-6 yo....so we needed help. She had PT and OT to helo her get used to things, and she is doing well now at almost 13. She hasn't worn socks ever though.....working on that.
SHe saw our regular Psych, and Neuropsych, and a behavioral therapist
A child may HAVE ADHD, but it is not what they ARE. Never tell a child they ARE ADHD.
