My DD is 8, will be 9 this month.
HI, and welcome
I would contact a Neuropsychologist, not a pediatrician or a family Dr, but DO ask your regular Dr for a referral.A Neuropsych will do extensive testing, observations, and possibly order bloodwork and EEG's or EKG's.
A child may HAVE ADHD, but it is not what they ARE. Never tell a child they ARE ADHD.
I'm also new at this and I think I am just a few weeks ahead of you so I just did all the things you asked about.
Supplements can , and do sometimes help, but they take time...alot of time. for us the Omega's took about 3-4 months to see results, and the magnesium took even longer. DD did have a slight deficiency, but it has been corrected and we have stopped mag for now.
Just make sure you are using a therapeutic dose, which is alot more than a daily recommended dose, and higher EPA is important, with the omega's.
