So the neurologist suggested we take DS to see a Psychologist/social worker to help him work on his behavior techniques.etc...what is the difference between a social worker and a Psychologist...any comments on which is better over the other...I am tryinbd to stay close to home..

I would go with the Psychologist, who has some training. Social workers don't necessarily have any educational background.

A child may HAVE ADHD, but it is not what they ARE. Never tell a child they ARE ADHD.

I would look for someone who has a lot of experience working with kids with ADHD and behavior modification, regardless of what their title is. We take our DS to a therapist who specializes in behavior modification for children with ADHD and she is excellent. She is a licensed therapist with a masters degree in counseling or something. I believe a psychologist has to have a Ph. D. in psychology.
