Have you talked to him about why he doesn't want to take it? That may give you clues about how to overcome his refusal to take it. If it makes him feel funny or not well, maybe it's just not the right medication for him. Our son willingly takes his medication because he knows how much it helps him, but I can see him flat-out refusing if for any reason he didn't like how he felt on it.

Thank you, I will talk to him and ask him when he gets home from school.

we have a similar situation but different medication, its the first pill he has ever had to swollow and well DH and I never thought much its small and first day was horrible, next day not much better that night comes up with I need to be alone to take it. OK I under estimated my 7 year old. While he does still swear he took Mondays, I wasn't 100% sure, it was too easy, so long story short I spyed and caught him hiding it and found 2. Needless to say I lost it. Now, background, he is not a bahavior issue, he is hyperactive has issues sitting still paying attention but he has no defiance issues and is pretty blantly honest at that so I was SHOCKED and mad to say the least. It turned into a 50 min screaming, crying, you name it match that left us both drained.

Came back to it last night, him and I sat down, he says its the tastes, I have come up with options (we can't break it down its tamper proof) after yesterdays nightmare and our talk I had high hopes this morning. Course coming into without being upset over lying had a different mind set but 35 min later he had worn down calm patient mommy. Will say he was honest. In part of our discussion we had created an expectation chart which includes his meds along with other things and he had gotten up on time had breakfast and asked to go bathroom before he took it. Fine, took a bit long and he came right out when I asked if he was ok that yes he was nervous and I calmly sat with him for over 20 mins and OMG I should video this, his hand is litereally shacking going to pick up the pill and then he backs away.

Personally I think its more then the taste issue he claims so will try talking to him again, so sorry no real advice just sympathy because going through it too
