Tics -- UPDATE

Anyone else dealing with ADHD and tics? Our son has been on ADHD medication for four years without any trouble. In fact, the medication worked beautifully.

I appreciate your responses. I'm leaning toward option #1 if we have to make a change, since we know Tenex has helped and he wouldn't have to go through tapering off and the tics being really strong at school. But I'm not 100 percent certain. Still holding out hope for a miracle that they'll go away on their own by tomorrow.
I would hate to have to switch his ADHD meds since they are working so well. I really hope that they go away on their own.

My son and daughter are both on Clonidine at night.
We just couldn't figure out what to do and really needed to know more about the tics themselves, so we got in on a last-minute appt. with his doctor tomorrow. The tics are not going away on their own and really bother our son, so we need to get a good solution tomorrow. I feel better knowing we can talk it through face-to-face with the psychiatrist.
After meeting with the psychiatrist, we decided to switch from Concerta to Adderall. Our son tried Adderall years ago and went into rages as it wore off, so I wasn't too optimistic. However, he did great on it when we got it to the right dosage. The tics are now down to only hitting his leg, and that's down to periodically. We can live with that. Just crossing my fingers things stay this good for a while and that we also get a good school report today on his first day on the Adderall there.
Thanks again for all of the support!
