I was a little surprised, too, but it seems to becoming more and more commonplace to do an evaluation and talk to the parents for an initial diagnosis.

Hi

Glad you got some answers, but I am surprised they started Vyvanse at 30, and eval'd in one visit?

A child may HAVE ADHD, but it is not what they ARE. Never tell a child they ARE ADHD.

Welcome! That's terrific what your daughter said. I got a chuckle out of that! My seven year old son recently described ADHD as feeling like he can't control his body.

I can relate to the doctor's appt. That's just what our son would do, too. Visit the behavioral therapist and psychiatrist's office was a relief because it was the first time I didn't have to try to correct every behavior or apologize. They knew exactly what we were dealing with!

Best of luck to you! I hope Vyvanse proves to be a winner for her and that the side effects/rebound gets better over time.
