Hello everyone!I'm new here, have only posted once.I have 3 children with adhd.My oldest is the big problem right now,he will 9 on June 6th.

Lately,he has been very whiney,defiant,non-listening,swearing,and really acting goofy. He is on concerta 72mg.he was just uped from 56mg.last week.He goes through these phases every few months or so.Just out of the blue he will start acting crazy, and it is really annoying.I don't know what to do about it.He has been on concerta for overa yr.now, and his behavior is fine for a few months then changes for a month or so,then changes again.

Has anyone else dealt with this before?

What have you done?

Thank you.

I am far from the expert these other wise women are, but I will jump in with my 2 cents anyhow, because this is an issue I've been grappling with myself lately. My ds is almost 7, and sometimes I wonder if I am attributing too much to his ADD and whatever else he winds up being dx'd with (on-going right now) rather than just accepting that some of the cr*p is just typical cr*p for a kid his age. NOT that the behaviors are acceptable, but I have to sort of accept that it's just a "normal" stage he is going through with the rest of his peers, and deal with it on THAT level. Sometimes, seeing him interact with his (non-ADD, non-bipolar, non-ODD etc) friends is a help in this vein -- they are pretty much all *equally* mouthy and obnoxious, LOL! (As a matter of fact, sometimes mine is one of the more pleasant ones !)

As I said, I may be way off-base here, but I thought I'd throw this out there as food for thought! Hope things improve! ~ ruth
