no i dont want an adhd Dx but im sure its comming .. i would like to just get him started with services.. if i could convice my daughter that it is needed ! She knows hes problematic but doesnt want there to be a reason .. but cant handle him and wants him to listen ?! So i think what I am going to do is during skyes next OT session, im going to schedule an eval and just bring him myself .. hes with me 70% of the time anyway !
Our son got kicked out of preschool when he was not quite three--we went through CPSE and got behavioral therapy from a SEIT, at first at home, and then in school when he returned to preschool after a bit. Since starting kindergarten we've seen some behavioral regression, due I think mostly to his school trying to treat 4-year-old kindergarteners like they're 7. We've never had a formal dx, though, because it's not the practice to do that at very early ages around here. We did find behavioral intervention through the school system effective without medication or MD's.
Just wanted to add that there are a number of routes you may go, depending on your health plan. A developmental pediatrician or psychiatrist is also capable of helping. We got help for our son starting at three. His pediatrician at Kaiser sent us to a child psychologist and from there we saw a behavioral therapist. Once our son was kicked out of preschool, we moved on to a child psychiatrist. It was only when our son started ADHD medication at age four that we saw improvement (and at a tremendous level).
You are so right that it's important to get the medical help early on. It can make all the difference in the world. Good luck!
I took my DS(6) when he was 4 to see a psychologist.

Except, you don't "want" an ADHD diagnosis in particular, do you?

Hi
With his age being SO young, I would see a Neuropsychologist, and none else.
