Would you ever put your child in a clinical trial?

I was going through my newsfeed on Facebook and their was an ad for ADHD clinical trials.  I was curious so I clicked on the link, but did not fill out the form for them to contact me.  I just have some unease about having my son participate in one, maybe if we were really struggling though I'd be more apt to try it.

What do you think, would you allow your child to participate in one?  If so, what type of things would you research or questions would you ask beforehand?

Unless we had tried every known medicine and was getting no where then maybe but if not then no if its a medicine trial. Now if my kid had a terminal illness and they had tried everything and this was the only hope. Known many with terminal cancer try whatever they could under the maybe it gives me a little longer and helps someone else, but ADHD is NOT terminal and ever hear an add for a drug and they list all these side effects and wonder if this is the drug that approved imagine the ones that don't.

Now he is part of research because of his birth defect, but mostly for teaching. You pretty much have to agree before Children's Hospital will treat your kid. Doesn't really bother me until a flock of medical students are called in to see the cleft kid.
