WOW another killer site!!!

I have just recently been posting to ivillages Endo site and just came across this one. Another blessing. I've been reading up on the board and can totally relate to all. My dd 7 year old has been dx with add she was medicated for school only, for the first time last year. she also repeated kindergarten due to the add. I had the same questions in regards to medicating 24/7 guilt etc. I work fulltime and our daycare, who is terrific, she has had Meg since she was born, says that she doesn't notice any difference between Meg and the other children. (Daycare felt this way even before medicating at all) This is why I chose not to medicate after school. But when she gets home OMG she is so impulsive she gets into trouble all the time. I feel so bad for her. She is also the middle child and I think is having difficulties there too. She also does not sleep. Maybe gets 5 hours then ready to go she gets bored and starts waking everyone up around 4:30 or 5:00. We attempt to get her to bed starting around 9:00 pm but it just is so hard. She is on dexadrine, getting ready to try a new dosage I decided to go ahead and try medicating during the summer to try to get ahold of the situation.

Anyone read up on mercury poisoning and have any info in relation to ADD?? I found some info and have tried a garlic supplement with her I haven't seen any big difference but it's only been 1 month. I read that garlic can cleanse system for metals. I also am trying to get a hair analysis done, my dh doesn't always agree with my ideas so I'm trying to sell him on that one to see what her levels are.

She truly is a great kid lots of spark, a performer and a social butterfly. I just hate to see her struggle so much.

Good luck to all have a great week,

Tammy
