I get so frustrated with my son, he just never seems to get caught up with school work.  He always starts off the year so well, but then by November it just goes downhill.  We gave him some time off over the holidays, but it's been catchup week now.  His focus also hasn't been the best with all the distractions of new games and his brothers home.

Are you on this same never ending ride of schoolwork?

A problem has been reported to the tech team and they have been working on a fix. I've been running into issues as well, it's taking me a few tries to get a new post started. I'm sorry you are running into it as well :(

I'm having a problem starting a discussion on this site.  Melissa is there a problem with the sites?  I tried both the ADHD and this one and no luck.  Very frustrating.  I miss everyone and would like to share and get support.   If this works then it seems I'm able to reply to post, but not start one.

Sigh, I'm so sorry that you are just as tired, but it does make me feel better to know I'm not alone in feeling that way.  Mine doesn't seem to care much about his grades in some respect, at least not enough to keep track of all his assignments.  The semester ends in a week, which means that we will have a very looong weekend of getting him to finish all his outstanding assignments.  On a bright note, we'll have a clean slate to work from with the new semester.  That scares me a little, I hope that we can stop it from getting more out of control!

Yes, I'm very tired.  My DS is 16 and a sophomore in H.S.  He has ADD-inattentive and I've been working closely and helping him since 2nd grade.  Thankfully, he cares about his grades, is on meds (but not happy about it, never has been), but he still struggles.  I think part of it is his ADD and part of it is just his intelligence and ability.  He seems to always get good grades on classroom work/homework/etc., but it's not uncommon to bomb tests.  When I step in and help him study..try to teach him HOW to study (in depth), he does much better.  I didn't help him study on two tests this week and he bombed both.  Guess I need to step in.  When I sit and help him study and prep, he does fairly well on them, so I know it's that he has the ability to learn...but the inattentivenes makes it hard for him to absorb it on his own.  I"m worried about college, of course.  I'll be helping him prep for the SAT starting in the summer.

After 9 years of helping him do school, I'm tired.  I really am.  But I keep plugging along.
