Hi Tammy -

I can't offer much in the way of advice, but I wanted to wish you good luck. My son (2.5 yrs. old) and I are about at the point the you are - waiting for the first visit. I think I remember you mentioning that you are in eastern canada, right? I tried to post to you a couple of weeks ago but something went wrong - I wanted to tell you that I'm in New Brunswick. Where are you? I have no clue exactly how the system works here, but we've made an appointment with a private specialist (by private I mean that NB Medicare doesn't pay) as well as an appointment with a pediatrician.

I'd be interested in knowing more about about where you are and what type of doc you're going to see. Maybe we can learn a little from each other!

In any case, good luck with your evaluation...let us know how it goes!

I am from Montreal, Quebec.Well I am going through the school which medicare does pay and also you should inform yourself if there is a program there under IDEA which is covered by medicare, maybe call gov't office or hospital or local health centre.I have been waiting a while, so if I went private maybe I would not have waited so long .it all started in school in grade 3, his teacher brought up asperger's and we went from there symptoms were not really big so I guess I just dismissed as being a intellectual child and as being a young mother 19yo really didn't have much to compare to.well good luck to you also and would like to more about you and your child or children, will post after dr's apt.
