Let's see...

For Noah it's "Um, actually" - he usually the word actually in front of everything, whether its appropriate or not.

For Claire the list is a mile long (echolalia), but most recently the annoying one is, "I have an idea. If we use our imagination..." but then there's never any idea! Drives me nuts.

Oh yes, I can play this........

"knock knock" and anything that follows, especially if it has anything to do with poo, farts, or pee.

"so what?"

and "I'm too tired" (that usually comes right after he's been running around the house like someone with their pants on fire but I have mentioned a bath or bedtime, then suddenly he's too tired.....or if he's not interested in the supper I've cooked, he's too tired to eat it....)

"You're Fired"

is one my son used for a long time, my dh hated, too. Finally, telling him over and over that he may not use that phrase sunk in or he just got tired of it, thankfully.

Oh, I didn't know the "Your Fired" line was outside my house, lol. Mike doesn't do that oen anymore but it was standard for a while.

Now since our kids probably have never been fired, and we probably haven't explained such situations to them it leaves me with one thought. WHAT MOVIE did they get that from? Common, you guys know as well as me they got that one somewhere. Major kudos to the first person who can figure it out for me.

Heck, the other day Mike kept running down our hall and into the wall and would say "Thaaaat hurt". Finally about 2-3 days later I saw it in I think it was over the hedge.

Oooh, I've missed the board for the last several days, but I like this thread!

My 3 phrases would be:

1. Growling
2. Now what can I have to eat? ... Now what can I have to eat? ... Now what...
3. Now what can I have to eat? ... Now what can I have to eat? ... Now what...

The food one probably drives me more crazy than the growling just 'cus I hear it all day long every day. Ds is obsessed with food and has no "full" button. Of course, since he also has limits to what foods he believes he can eat, it makes it all the more interesting. At least he's expanding his selection of foods he can eat, or it'd be worse. Still, he's significantly overweight, and I'm not sure what to do about the food obsessions without making food a bigger issue. He's willing to eat nutritious food, too, but he just eats non-stop.

Is he on risperadol or something similar by anychance? That turns off thier "full button" and those kids can get significantly overweight sometimes.

"anything echolalia from spongebob. UGH! IF the little critter wasn't so funny I would send him packing."

I *used* to find SpongeBob funny, I encouraged watching SpongeBob because anything, I mean anything, is better than Land Before Time 8,9 and 10 for weeks on end. But now, I would rather be locked alone with nothing but Land Before Time movies than watch or listen SpongeBob. :) I most likely feel this way because ds lived, breathed and ate SpongeBob for about 6 months and I had enough. He wanted to watch nothing else nor talk about anything else, it was torture.
