hwife, I can totally agree with you on this one....

1. Growling
2. Now what can I have to eat? ... Now what can I have to eat? ... Now what...
3. Now what can I have to eat? ... Now what can I have to eat? ... Now what...

The thing with my son is that he is extreme with his choices, but when he eats, he eats alot! And preparing meals for him is really stressful!

Now my other son.... I am suspecting more and more everyday of having tourettes. I just wish I could ban all bad words and loud shrieks.... sigh, they drive me batty and I jump when he does them out of the blue, when its quiet and peaceful. I swear I jump out of my skin, and I have this puzzled look, like "Why did you call me that bad name????"

What the he// did I do? lol. I don't say that, but I am thinking that lol.

No, he's not on any meds yet. I wonder if risperdal can have a reverse effect on someone whose "full" button is already off? I have less expectation that he'd need something like risperdal than his sister whose moods are all over the map. We do have schizophrenia in the family, so I wouldn't be completely surprised if she needed something. She's also overweight and constantly eating (I've got two overweight, one underweight, and one average child -- no one can share clothes!), so I'm nervous about finding she needs meds.

I have two full day appts this week with the neuropsych about my kids (one day each kid), and then the neuropsych team will be meeting with kids once a week for the next several weeks to get diagnosis. I should know more about dd by the end of month and more about ds by the end of Feb. Yay!

We're at least FINALLY getting to the point after a dozen years that we have almost as many meals that everyone can eat as we have meals where everyone's griping about what I fixed to eat. Although other people who come to the house think my kids are terribly picky, I'm just excited that we have more than three things we can eat nowadays (and that the list of "acceptable" food keeps expanding!

Sorry you have the tourettes along with everything else. I'm not fond of many of the kids' behaviors, but I think what gets me the most is the sudden changes in moods. I'm sure tourettes would just put me over the edge patience-wise.

I have to say, the feeling of him having it is getting stronger and stronger as I really really pay attention to him. My oldest is being tested for Aspergers right now, and so naturally I looked for any signs that his younger brother does that are the same.

He (7 yr old) does need the same repetitiveness and same schedule, or will flip out and get violent, he is a picky eater but not as extreme as my oldest, he does have problems with sleeping also like my oldest, but not as extreme or as often. But the difference with him is he has always made weird odd faces. I always looked at it as he is very creative, and would most likely be the one that would grow up and be an entertainer. He has always loved to draw, and does so with such detail, its amazing, so I always thought that he was just more of an artist type of guy (which I'm sure thats true), but the faces, I realize is more like a tic. He blinks often (and I just thought it was a problem with his eyesite, as he did have glasses but they got lost and I haven't taken him back to the doc yet) He does large grimances, and dances around alot, moving more his torso. He also likes to punch himself in the head....

And then the bad words.... thats always been a problem. I just have never been able to get him to stop, no matter what form of discipline or reward system I would try. For example one time he was in my room, playing on the ex-box and I on my computer. It was peaceful, quiet and calm, and all of a sudden he shouts very loudly "Mom, your a B, over and over, chanting. He will say it multiple times. I will just sit there shocked you know? Or he will yell (its always a yell or shriek) shut up! Several times, out of the blue.

Last night was the worst I think. I let him stay up with me, while my sick 10 yr old was asleep and my husband went over to a friends party for a bit. He couldn't sit still on the computer next to me. His face was doing weird things like always and he would jump up and shriek and yell, then calm down, then shriek some more, then calm down, then yell out "Your Gay, Your Gay, Your Gay" (????? LOL) At one point I said, Nick, if your going to yell and shriek, then go into my closet, shut the door and do it (I have a real big closet). But of course that just made him do his shrieks louder sitting there.

Finally I put him to bed ( I should of done it earlier but I thought it would be cool to be up with him to wish him a happy new year)

Anyway, sorry for the off topic lol.

3 each in no particular order -

1) I'm Thirsty (Ryan)

2) Shut UP! (Josh)

3) He hit me! (Josh)

4) JUST a minute Mom (Josh)

5) I don't want to go to daycare, I hate Jan (Ryan - who ADORES Jan)

6)I don't like {insert food item on plate} (Ryan)

Also Josh's random grunts and growls that Ryan is starting to imitate.
