48-hour EEG question

My DS, Grayson had a 45-minute EEG done last monday. They are trying to rule out Landau Kleffner's syndrome by looking for seizures. Monday's EEG showed normal brain activity and the neurologist would like to schedule a 48-hour test in the hospital. Have any of your children had this test done. How on earth did you keep them entertained/occupied in a hospital room for two days??? My gut says that he does not have a seizure disorder and I feel like this would be a waste of time. However, if there is a slight chance that LKS is the appropriate diagnosis I am willing to put Grayson through the test. The therapies for LKS would be different than for something on the autism spectrum.

Any advice or help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Layna,

Check that he has to stay in the hospital for the 48 hours or if they are just going to send him into the hospital to be electroded and kitted up, and then send him home for 48 hours.

Generally speaking, a 24- or 48-hr EEG is not an in-patient thing. It is
