OMG! This is insane! My laptop has some kind of easy-to-reach, invisible button that erases my message if my pinky finger touches it.

I don't want to write this a third time, but I will say that David (8, AS) has been having a tough time for the past month or so, and today was a really awful day at school. Last night, he kind of freaked out while brushing his teeth. He often has a hard him staying calm and behaving appropriately while brushing teeth or bathing, but last night he was crying because he just couldn't stand to brush. Today at school, according to him, he did some inappropriate stuff and got sent to resource (which is in IEP) and then when it got too busy there, he was sent to a fifth grade classroom where the teacher was mean to him (NOT in IEP).

When I got home, there was a message on my machine to call the resource teacher, but I think I missed her. I was really fuming about the fifth grade thing, but I'd like to hear her side of the story.

I just don't have the energy. Our whole family was sick for a month, and now that everyone is physically better, David has begun flipping out. We saw his dev. ped. and she increased his mood stabilizer meds a bit, which really seemed like an appropriate thing to do. It seemed to help a bit for a while, but not today. Nathan, 4, is having his own problems, and I really need to have the energy and quiet to focus on HIS issues for once. Oh, and we are trying to refinance our house and there is some glitch there. Not too mention that there are toys, shoes, socks, etc. scattered all over the house, and no one seems to be able pee without spraying on the walls. Hrrmph! (In all fairness, DH is MUCH better than most men I've known; it's the kids I'm talking about.) I sometimes wish I could just send the kids to grandma's for a week and sit around reading or knitting while someone else cleans the house. Fat chance.

So, I've got to get my wits about me and request an IEP meeting. I've also got to contact the dev. ped. One thing for sure, we're having grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner tonight!
