Sorry for the two-part post - I posted a while back (please help I'm terrified) in the getting to know you section and received many compassionate responses. We are still waiting for a diagnosis, an MRI is scheduled for next week and ADOS testing the following week. We are still waiting for a full-scale developmental evaluation. Did your child get ADOS testing? I'm just wondering what to expect.
Also - is there a test that can determine if my child is unable to metabolize certain proteins? My little guy was put on soy formula soon after birth because they suspected a milk allergy (he couldn't keep regular formula down). We started him on whole milk with no problems after his 1st birthday, but he still has loose stools alot (Maybe a problem with dairy???) I'm toying with the idea of going dairy-free with him, but gluten free seems a little daunting. Anybody have any tips for how we get started with this? Do you substitute rice or soy milk? And how to ensure adequate calcium?
Thanks!
Robin

There are some links I need to look up for you. There are tests and information and MT proteins and how in autistics it is thought not to be broken down correctly.

Start with that one. there is an article on there about it. They have out of area clinics as well. If they are not near you, you can call and see if they have referrals.
If you tell me where you are, I have a friend in the northwest who is starting a non-profit clinic that will have alot of this stuff as well as all autism treatments.
