OK I was nice this time: I didnt; post an OMG thread or try to fool you (and given the date, you have to admire me for that!).
I was open and upfront.
So please post a little about yourself and the kid or kids who bring you here. Also answer this bonusn question:
What is your Autie/Aspie's current obsession(s)?

Hi all,
Dee here.
I'm Evelyn, 39, in the SF Bay Area.
Hi, I'm here because of my DD Gabrielle. She's 2 1/2 and we got her ASD dx last July. A second opinion in November confirmed ASD but most likely closer to PDD/NOS. She is receiving EI services in DI, ABA, OT and Speech and responding nicely.
Gabby's obesssion right now is anything to do with Little Einsteins. Rockets, music and seatbelts especially. The repetition of the word "seatbelts" is driving me crazy! Well, I shouldn't complain as at least this show is providing her with a little culture. LOL! She is also entering what I call the "girly-girl" stage where she wants to dress up, wear barettes in her hair and admire herself in the mirror. It really is very cute! Along with this obession comes a fondness for Disney Princesses, especially Ariel and Snow White.
I will be 37 next month and my DH is the same age. We met in college and have been together for 16 years, married for 6. Right now we are on shaky ground and might very well be headed for Divorce, but that's another story...
We live in the NJ shore area and have been here for almost 2 years. We both grew up in NJ a few minutes drive from NYC. We moved here when our DD was 10 months old due to my DH's job change. We also wanted to get out of the area because it was just too expensive to live there. It's a little cheaper to live here but it's catching up.
After we moved here and before DD's dx, we found out that this area has the highest concentration of Autism in the country, something like 3x the national average. Although we were disturbed at first, we truely believe fate guided us here as the services for Autism in our town are concidered the best in the state. We are in the process of enrolling our DD for Special Needs Preschool for this Fall.
Rina (41) hailing from Long island Ny with Hubby Jon(45) I am a nurse in Long term care. He is a Photographer(Paula you can make money with a camera fetish)
We have been pretty lucky despite the long haul with services here but lets face it it ain't cheap to live here but in some ways it is just as scary to move because you don't know what you will get next
And now for the kiddos:
Josh my 12 year old aspie. In an inclusion 6th grade class. We have had the dx since last summer. Before that we tried the ADHD route. he does take medication. Right now we are trying the Straterra route. Josh gets fixated on time and his schedule with what he needs to be doing next. You don't need a clock with Josh around. He is very much into reading the news paper and looking at the weather. If it says the weather will be cold. Josh will dress for the cold. He does show his quirky side. He gets overly paniced with loud noises. He will run out of the house and skin if out smoke detector goes off and gets very nervous with the concept. He is also an active boy scout who just successfully completed a trip to Washington DC. . He just has one more thing before he gets 2nd class. And he is working on another merit badge.
And right now he will talk DC to death. He also bowls and is in Hebrew school and in one year will be making his Bar Miztvah.
Ethan(8) in Nt and a burp master. He is pretty smart and has been refered to as the mayor of his school. He is a typical 2nd grader
Jeremy my 5 year old kindie is also NT with a touch of the ADHD at home because he can be a real buster. And soon he will be starting soccer again. He is also the proud kid who just learned in 2 days how to ride a 2 wheeler.
There is much more but for now...lol

Hi! Christie here.......I pop in when I can.......39 yrs, married SAHM in Ohio......two boys.....Vaughn 8 (9 in May) is my aspie and Jack 2 NT (or so we hope....long story - another time).
Vaughn is in a mainstream 3 grade class with pull outs (one in the morning and one in the afternoon)......he is doing fabulously academically (as ususal) and he is having a very good year socially (3 good friends....all on the spectrum) and much improved behaviorally.
Vaughn's obsession is and always has been TRAINS!!! Can't get enough trains.....toys, pictures, models, etc.

I'm Kate, mom to Ryan (8, AS) and married to Dan, for nearly 14 years. We live in PA. I work for a software company, managing a software testing group.
Ryan is mainstreamed in 1st grade, with pullouts for speech and a social skills thing at the end of the day. He is doing well in school, and has a great teacher, but the social aspect is really hard for him, even in 1st grade.
Obsessions? From the sound of the clicking and snapping in the next room, I know it's currently Lego bionicles, putting them together, taking them apart, putting them together, taking them apart. We lost Jaller's head and have been looking for it for 3 days. Also, Star Wars, SpongeBob, and video games.

My name is BreeAnne. I'm new here, have posted maybe twice. I live in Dallas and have five, almost six kids.
Andrew is 9 and will be ten in a month. His current obsessions are Lego Star Wars, Pokemon, and Harry Potter. He hasn't actually been officially diagnosed yet; the Autism Evaluation Team for the school district has finished their report and another ARD is scheduled for this coming Wednesday to discuss their results. Regardless of their findings, though, I've done enough research to know that if Drew isn't Asperger's then he is close enough; even if he's just borderline, it explains a LOT and a lot of things finally make sense.
My other kids are Jaden (7), Kendra (6), Aspen (3), and Levi (21mos), and I'm due to deliver another in 2 weeks.

Hey BreeAnne~
Not to put you on the spot, but how happy are you with the services in Dallas? DH is focusing his job hunt in the Texas area. (For a number of reason, not just autism services.) But primarily we're looking at the Austin area. I'd love to get your thoughts on the Dallas, etc.
Feel free to email me privately, if you prefer. ;-)
Amy
Thanks to all who posted, but we are missing some folks.
