Henry does not attend this elementary school, but it is in our district and I know several children who go there.

I agree 100%. I would definately want clarification on this as well. Our schools policy is a specific chair in the corner of the class facing instruction (not at the front in front of everyone) or a chair right outside the open door and then to the office for a call home. NEVER is anyone in the SD allowed to lock or place a child in a closet or bathroom as dicipline. They aren't even allowed to lock the classroom doors (it is a fire hazzard). I can't believe the charges were dropped!! I would be all over this just for the peace of mind that my kids would be safe and that there is clarification to prevent this from happening again.

Thankfully this wasn't at your child's school. Of course that poor boy is having severe anxiety, anyone would!

hello,a similar thing happened at my sons school not to long ago.He came home and told me that his sna had locked him in the quiet room to calm down.he said the door was locked and the sna was not outside the door.not sure how long he was in there for but when i went in to ask what had happened they said he was in the room but the door was not locked, she was holding it from the other side closed.not sure what to believe as there is a window in the door so my son would have seen his sna.he also told me exactly where the key to the room is.he also has a seperation anxiety. doesn,t this break every health and safty law, what if there was a fire? sorted out now but was distraught and angry for a long time.
