One to counter the perceived notion that Aspies don't notice emotions in others or get humour...

Euan (9) was in a complete strop yesterday, incoherent with frustration after a series of things that we were trying (and failing) to get to the bottom of. To try and relieve the tension I joked that maybe he had his period. When I'd explained what I meant (ie that women sometimes get hormonal and stroppy for no apparent reason when they get their period) he asked 'How often do you get yours?' 'About once a month' - without skipping a beat he said 'It seems like more often than that'.

!! little stinker!! it worked though, we both had to sit down because we were laughing so hard :-)
