My current problem is I CANNOT keep my aspie entertained at home! It is driving us all crazy. Should I buy additional educational materials (like homeschooling materials for older grades) just to keep her entertained? She just turned 7 and this is a new world for us. I can't believe that it is this hard and I'm worried about things as she ages. What is an appropriate age for ACCURATE IQ testing? Also, what are some good suggestions for keeping your kids entertained at home other than computer/video games? She LOVES projects and has to constantly write. I'm tired of the constant mess. She is an emotional basket case! So, I'm thinking that I would much rather take advantage of her intellectual ability instead of inhibiting her. She would be way happier doing math than listening to a CD of music! Anyways, I'm looking for suggestions.
Thanks -
Jessica

May I suggest my FAVORITE catalog? It's called Mindware Toys...I believe the online store is Mindwareonline.com but a search of google should take you there.
We use stuff from this catalog/online store all of the time! My 9 y/o aspie loves the "Think A Minute" books, and they have some awesome games.
Be sure to ask for a catalog because the online store isn't nearly as "all inclusive" as the catalog is.
Good luck!

Oh yeah...one more thing. If you haven't introduced it yet, I'd strongly encourage you to try origami. My 7 y/o daughter is not on the spectrum, but she loves origami- and I appreciate the fact that it's NOT messy like a lot of the other crafts she's into these days! Origami can be very "mathmatical" as well, and will help to improve fine motor skill development, should your daughter need help with motor skill development. :-)

Jessica,
it is so hard to keep my 5.5yo Aspie entertained if he is not in the mood to just "play".
Well Liam's IQ has beeen all over the map from age 4.11 to 6.6.
