Ugh I just want some people to please tell me they know how I feel. I belong to another moms board for a few years now so I share more details there. Anway I just feel sometimes they don't get when I rant about Chad and school. They do mean well though.

Oh yes. We totally get it. Parents of "normal kids" (bless their hearts) just don't. And they never will.

Well, I'm glad the resource teacher had a go at Chad's regular teacher for forgetting his chart. Like you said, you just CAN'T "forget" this stuff with our kids!

It may be that Chad (or his teacher) needs more support in school so this stuff is not dropped in the future. I can't remember (sorry) if there was ever talk of an aide for him in the classroom -even for part of the day (like transitions)? That might help both of them a lot.

I know I pushed for an aide during our initial IEP last month, but was denied. I think his regular teacher just didin't get it and kinda blew it for me. I do have a post on the special education board...I need to go check those responses...LOL..I have been thinking about asking for an aide again.

I totally understand what you're saying. I don't ever mention my Aspie to my friends at work because they are so clueless. Once, I was describing to a very close friend the difficulties my son has with physical education do to motor planning issues and she smiled at me and said "My son Jared always excelled at sports!" Well, whoop-dee-doo for you. I was at an informal PPT progress meeting last week and we were discussing the annual holiday behavior slide. At least the school recognizes what is going on, and why. Good luck.

As I could have predicted, Jeremy fell apart at school today and pushed another kid, and called him an "imbecile" (okay, I felt a little guilty pride at his vocabulary).
