Just frustrated.

Today I picked up Cait from this drama thing after school. For the 7th grade renaissance faire each kid has to do something. She choose the drama. Well she is like one of 2 kids out of tons who didn't get a part in the play. Why? Because she was confused on directions and missed showing up when the auditions were. She is confused on a lot of it and can't seem to figure out what she is doing there other than wasting 2 afternoons a week.

Then she got the results of her math placement test for next year and she is in the low class (algebra A) while all the other kids at her table got the high class (algebra B)

Poor kid is terribly frustrated with school all together. She does have these 2 girls that seem to be becoming friends but we are at the end of the year and every other time in the past this has started it either turns nasty as the kids tease and bully her or they just ignore her. Either way she gets hurt. I am so nervous she is going to get hurt again. UGH!

Oh and Mike got a pink slip which means he misses one of the end of the year events and I guess he has had lots of behaviors lately that should have been pink slips that they let slide only no one told me.

One bright note, Mike got the part of Thomas Jefferson for his school performance. I hope he can do it when the time comes.

Raspberries is right, Renee! (How's THAT for alliteration?)

I'm not sure what's in the air right now, but it's getting really old around our house too.

Hugs all around~

In their school all 8th graders take algebra, either A or B. The only thing lower than that is the RSP math which she may be darn close to having to take. She has made NOOOOOO progress this year at all I think academically. She is taking her standardized tests this week (and last) and I am honestly dreading the results.

She has always been one of those aspies with strong academic skills even if she had poor organizational skills. She had a few low grades in like 1st grade but ever since has been on target or above.

Every year she was "proficient" or "advanced". Last year she dropped huge and was barely proficient by the skin of her teeth. She will be lucky to score basic this year.

It is 1am and I cannot sleep tonight because of this crappola. She got a 30% on her last test and spent 2 nights crying at home trying to do a revision. She currently has a D in Math and a D in Social Studies. All her tests have been strong F's. It is homework and such that pull it up to a D.

Thanks for the reply. Can you tell I am obsessing on this a bit much.

Here is hoping to the end ofthe year.
Josh is very much like your daughter.. He can have very good acadameics is he was just much more organized. Difference s your daughter seems to be that she gives a darn. Josh doesn't seem to. He will matter of factly tell you he failed a test. He is also one of those Aspies who I don't think tests well to begin with so iam sure his IQ tests are not accurate. He's IQ is tested to be about 88. But Josh will just stop answering questions that he feels are "too hard" so I think he just gives up and stops trying at a certain point.

It has always been a bone of contention between Josh and us. His lack of effort.
But josh's report card has not been something to brag about either 2nd quarter he failed 3 subjects. he brought it up but Math is still his worst subject and he still failed that.

Next year his after school load should hopefuly lighten a tad and DH and I have talked about a tutor for him next year to help with the subjects he has a hard time with and maybe figure out what works best for Josh. But he will be in junior high-7th grade and just the changes alone from that are scaring me.
