Back to School....!

Well -- it is back to school in San Diego and we had a good day! Jason is now in 8th grade and now his sister is in 6th --- two middlers schoolers... can I survive????? Jason has an interesting schedule this year -- he is in GATE so all advanced classes -- but Alegbra? Don't come to me for help - I have a hard time with addition. The only class I worry about is his English class -- same teacher from last night - she is very.. umm... what is the word I am looking for??? Flighty? Not a strong presence in the classroom - we had problems with her last year, although he did manage to get an A+.... and by chance, Ashley has her for her core classes.. I feel sorry for the teacher in a way. Everything else is fine I think. I have told all of Jason's teachers that we WILL be meeting in the next couple of weeks to discuss his IEP and strategies for this year. Luckily they were all very receptive to the idea. Other than school, he is excited that the band gets to go a high school football game to see what the high school band sounds like, and they are starting a flag football team and he is excited that I said that he can play... yikes!

Well.. that is our back to school update. Hope everyone is doing well.

Sounds like a good start. Glad the teachers are receptive. That always helps. DH has been back to work for a week so I forgot today was actually the first day of school but like DUH he told me a bunch of times. Mostly what I have been hearing about is how the new superintendent wants to change the logo's and moto for the district. San Diego unified likes to find creative ways to waste money IMO.
