Bad day became positive learning for all

Well Liam missed his meds on Wednesday (normally I have them out waiting for the mornings dh deals with Liam but that morniung I forget and so did dh).

Good for you guys! You did awesome! Glad it was a positive learning experience.
On the bad word thing, had an idea or at least what worked with Mike. Is Liam a "rule guy"? Had you told him out right in very concrete terms that bad words are bad and why they are bad? (ie what they mean?) Mike is and he was going through a phase of saying bad words. A few months bad for 2 days in a row he said the F word after he had heard it on the playground. Each time he got a pinkslip and in trouble.
After the second night I sat Mike down and very bluntly said "Mike today you said "f..." on the play ground. Did you know that is a very very bad word? One of the worst? You got in trouble for saying that. People will think you are a bad boy if you say those words"
A look of horror crossed Mike's face and he said "Mom you mean F.... is worse than the d-a-dash-dash word?"
He has NEVER used it again.
Renee
With Liam he picks up an the emotional connotation associated with the word.
Congrats, Dee,
I know about that situation, although in our case it isn't bad words, just yelling ... oh, and if running away and then being restrained, maybe someone will get bit ...
But it is so helpful to handle repercussions the way you describe!
And how good you could manage it when that fetus still hasn't gotten out! (LOVED your other thread...)
yours,
Sara
Dee!
LOL, positive role model???? OH dear, we're all in trouble now:)
Of course you know me well enough for a belly rub, rub away.
*rub rub*
A social story is a great idea...now how are you going to get them to listen to you read it? ;)
