The tantrums could be worse because of all those things. I would look into the adderal though. ADHD meds aren't always great for ASD kids. They can increase thier anxiety and rigidity over certain things. I found with both of my kids that it did this and increased tantrums. Kind of a catch 22 if it is helping attention. If you find it is really helping his attention some have had success with adding a antianxiety or OCD med to counteract the anxiety and rigidity that has increased.

Also, with stimulants the increased anxiety and rigidity (ya know, having to have thier way NOW!) may not be apparant immediately but may increase over time. A little annoyance at first may be a big deal in a month.

Good luck! You poor thing!

We are still trying to figure out the recent increase in Mikes behavior too. The supps the psych put him on aren't working. I think it is summer.

Tina,

a quick 2¢. I have to run...

Adderall cause my sensory issues to go insane at first, and later made me grumpy, paranoid and impatient.

Adam through a fit too when we had our 1st eval done. He hates to be locked in a room even with us there, and he growled at the doc. She asked that stupid question too "does he do that often" Well HELLO you have my papework I filled out prior to this appt. on your lap!
I basically had my dx right then and there. The other part was her getting my medical assitance card application and basically homework on getting my ds help with services.
Glad to hear the ball is rolling.
We have had wrap around for 3 weeks now and it's well. We cut back his TSS hours due to preschool and ot and speech he is also getting.
Besides I feel I do a better job than TSS (yes I am patting myself on the back) haha
