Best Buddies International?

Anyone have any experience with this group. It sounds good and it has been offered to Cait so I am looking into it.

The teacher offered that cait be a buddy matched with a "Peer Buddy" or non-disabled peer but also since it is typically for lower functioning kids, that she be a peer buddy for a lower functioning child.

The teacher just approached me about it yesterday. She doesn't usually use it for her kids in the AS class because typically it is for lower functioning kids. I think (I hope) part of it is they are trying to meet Cait's needs as a girl since thier program is all boys. This way she could be matched with a girl as a friend. I certainly hope it isn't because they think Cait is lower functioning or more needy.

These types of services are a double edged sword. On the one hand it is nice to recieve extra services, on the other it is a bummer you kid qualifies for it, lol.

Any info appreciated. The website sounds great but I don't know anyone who has had experience with it. It even goes to adulthood and job buddies.
