best school district in northern NJ?

Hi, All. I haven't been around for a while, but old-timers might remember me from the autism board. I'm an American, living in Paris with two little Franco-American daughters and a French DH. My younger daughter, Emma (now 5y5m) is HFA (or pdd-nos, depending on who you ask). She is mainstreamed in public school (equivalent of Kindergarten year), but really should have an aide (don't get me started...).

Anyway, it looks like my DH might have an opportunity to be sent abroad --- to New Jersey! -- for work. It would be northern NJ, so I'd be interested in hearing any feedback and recommendations about school districts (also if there are any to avoid). I have no idea if anything will really come of this, but I'd rather be prepared if it does!

I am in NY but have a gf in Northern jersey who has a child with severe ADHD. I will give her a shout and get back to you.

I belong to a NJ group called ASPEN - Asperger Education Network - and they have 12 chapters throughout the state. The link is http://www.aspennj.org/ .

Thanks, Leenie. I'll keep these links - and get in touch when things get a bit clearer (ít may be tomorrow, it may be in 6 months... things are a bit up in the air just now). Looks like a very active organisation - I hope our move works out and we can meet!
