Oh Evelyn, I am so sorry. I just started to read and was telling myself, "COuld David be hungry?", and sure enough you said it. Moments like these, I pull my kid and shove some food down his throat and just say swallow, like a robot. After few bites I have a totally mellow child. Why is this trait common?

take care and just hide everything that you don't want him to see so the week will pass with no episodes.

Evelyn,

I saw your post this morning but I wanted time to mull it over. Here's my thought, I am thinking if this is a once off episode so be it. However, I would watch David like a hawk right now. It's possible he is outgrowing his trileptal or abilify dose, (he is 9 now) or he may need a third med to help stabilize him. The food aspect was probab,y a part of it, but a stable mood-disorder chid would not be triggered to that extent by lack of sugar/protein. I know when Liam needs protein we can tell awfully fast, but when he is unstable like back before last summer we know he needs a med tweak, and we have aleways been right about that.

Was it yourself that talked about your dev ped being flakey and that david hadn't had bloodwork done? I really think a blood draw may be necessary, or even a consult to see whether he needs an up in his abilify , trileptal or both. Has D had a growth spurt recently? Liam has, and we noticed some instability during Easter, (as did his teachers) so it was off the the pdoc we went.

I know how rough those moments are. Hugs, and hope you are doing better, and so is David.

Dee,

Yes, it was me who talked about the flakey developmental pediatrician.

Hey Deb, that looks great, think I'll order the book and her other cd with stories; Liam needs stories or music at bedtime.
