And they're still almost 2 months away! I'm about ready to boycott Christmas!

Working out the details for Christmas week. As it stands right now, MY Christmas with the boys is Decenber 23. Ex-husband takes the boys to his parents Dec 24, Christmas Day is at his house. New Year's Eve is with Ex's new wife's family across the state.

Why do I have the sinking feeling that I'm going to have uber stimmy boys when they come home Christmas night?

Any tips?

I know how you feel......I have to do the juggling act with my aspie (he is from my previous marriage)......I hate to say this, but I agree.....you probably will have uber stimmy guys......it's all the extra stimulation of the season....the change in routine, toys, all the noise and lights, I know my son hates the smells of all the foods, etc.....

Any tips?.....I always try to prepare Vaughn for when there is going to be a change in routine.....I make a countdown calendar so he can mark off the days until the holidays......also so he knows exactly when he will go to his dad's, grandparents, etc......

Another thing I started to do was to feed him before he goes over to grandparents or aunt's house......he has a very self-limited diet and in the past, I have done battle over the dinner table.....I refuse to do this anymore......since I feed him before hand, no one will try to force him to sit and eat turkey when he hates turkey.....

I make sure son knows that there is a "safe place" where ever he goes......a place he can retreat to if things are getting too noisy.....we find a room away from everyone and he can sit and read a book or quietly play with a train or something else that calms him.....maybe listening to music while wearing headsets......whatever works.

Yup - I'm bracing over here too
