Braggin' On My NT!

We got word yesterday that Emma's (7 y/o NT) Young Author book was selected to go to state! It's quite an honor as the school district picks one winner from each grade level so Emma's was selected as the best 2nd grade submission. The title of her book, "Claire-My Sister with Autism". I was soooo proud of her for taking on the subject matter than I didn't even consider that it might win.

Evidently May is going to be a very important month for this little lady. She turns 8 on the 1st, makes her First Communion on the 5th, gets recognized by the school board on the 7th and attends the statewide conference on the 19th.

Thanks everybody...

Evidently there is no more "competition" involved. The winning comes in being selected to represent the district at the conference. It should be a really fun day! They get to meet published authors, share their books with other winners, etc.

Not sure if I'll be able to scan the book...our scanner is pretty stinky. If nothing else I'll be able post what the actual words she wrote.

That's graet for your dd. Sometimes its really hard on the NT sibling. That's insightful that she wrote a book about her sister. I would like to read some pages from it as well . I have 2 dd's one is 18 & one is 14. I wish my older dd had kept a journal or something to help her deal w/ her feelings. Take care~ Mary Ann
