There are these 2 boys in Cait's band class who are jerks for lack of a better word. They have been bullying Cait on and off all year. A bit ago they hid Cait's clarinet and then told her she would have to pay them $10 to get it back. One told her where it was and then bugged her for weeks for the $10. She finally told me after a couple weeks and I told the teachers, etc.

The band teacher "talked" to the kids and it ended for a little while. A week or 2 ago Cait starts telling me they are bugging her again. Little things this time.

Well the kicker is yesterday and someone is going to die. They hid her clarinet again. Cait was searching for it and in the process missed her bus home. The bus won't wait even though it is the special ed bus. I had to go pick her up from school and in the process got caught in the school traffic and missed my respite worker. Had to get my mom to come watch the kids so I could get to class.

So now we have a missing $800 instrument, I was late for class and those 2 little creeps are going to NOT mess with my girl anymore. I am going in today and speaking to the principal and those boys. I am finding the instrument myself and they will be lucky if I don't get thier mom's phone numbers my self.

Oh hon.. {{{HUGS}}} All I can say is I have to echo the not going in yelling. Go in confident of your rights tho. Victor was 7 and we had a bad bully problem on the playground at recess. These kids broke Vic's glasses on a number of occassions but Vic couldn't bring himself to "tell" on these kids because the school had just spent the last year telling him that tattling is wrong. Finally, when he came home with bruises on his ribs because these bullies had knocked him down and stompped on him, I went ape. I managed to get calm and go talk to the principal at the time( 4 principals in 3 years.. wonder what's going on there) and they tried to tell me that if Victor wouldn't tell, they couldn't do anything. I informed them that they have adults on the playground to keep an eye on the children, what is that person for if not to protect the kids outside who are getting beat up. They again told me they couldn't do anything if Victor wouldn't tell. When I left that meeting, I told the principal and the teacher and the yard monitor that if Victor came home again with bruises on his stomach or chest that I would file a report with the police department and the military police for child endangerment and harrassment and abuse. After that, miraculously Victor had no more trouble out of these kids. Anytime those bullies walked up to Vic, the yard monitor went over and redirected those kids to someplace else.
I hope they locate the intrument and those boys are punished. Lord knows our kids have enough to deal with without kids being mean.
