Happy dance time!!!!

She auditioned last night for "Your a Good Man Charlie Brown" at a local children's theatre group here. She got the part of Susan, one of Lucy's friends. Imagine my shock. I thought for sure IF she even got in she would be a tree or something. Theatre is huge around here and the guys who run the kids programs are great with the kids and always have beginners as well as experienced kids. There were a ton of kids there who take voice lessons and obviously had done this many times before.

I have to say I am singing the praises of Luvox this morning. A few months ago cait couldn't even order from McD's or buy something at Walmart she was so deathly afraid of talking to new people. We tried joining a children's choir and it was a nightmare. Couldn't even get near the door and she had a total panic attack. Then last night she is singing in front of 12 complete strangers and never even got nervous butterflies. She really didn't care what the otehrs were doing or what they thought of her. Ok, maybe that is the other extreme of asperger's. But wouldn't we all like to do that without reservation or butterflies.

One happy mommy here today. Of course my tune may change when I am driving her to all those practices and helping her with her lines.

Renee, congrats on Cait getting the part! She will probably do well. Sarah was in several plays @ her Montessori school & did great. She was Dorothy in an Oz prod. She was able to memorize all the lines & assume the characters personna. No fear of the audience either. Go figure? Drama sometimes works for these kids I've been told. Sarah is into role playing & make believe. I hope she will try out for her 6th gr. play next yr. Good Luck Cait, break a leg lol-Mary Ann

WOO HOO!! Way to go Cait!

For all of Ayla's "I hate people' routine she really likes acting on stage. She's amazingly good at it, which, I have to be honest, really surprised me. I would have thought Jade would have been the little actress in the family because she never seems afraid of anything. But she freezes up then runs off the stage crying every time she tries to go out for the co-op's monthly skit. Nevermind the quarterly play.

I'm so happy for Cait. I really hope she enjoys herself. I know role-playing can be great therapy for Aspies. Plus, it's just plain fun. Give her a big hug for me. Can I join you in the happy dance? LOL
