Can you come up with the names and current addresses for all the doctors, therapists, organizations, etc that have worked with or evaluated your child in the past 5 years? How quickly do you think you could come up with that?
I thought I was organized, lol. Just wondering how everyone else would do with this task.

The only thing that would make this task difficult would be how MANY therapists Malcolm has worked with through the schools, as my contact with them would only be through the particular school itself. I never really knew half of their last names to begin with (a few I can barely remember at all...) and many of them have moved on, work elsewhere now. I could probably get in contact with them THROUGH those schools.
I have all the contact phone numbers in a central location phone book, and all the addresses of outside evaluators, therapists etc. in my tax records, as we itemize and deduct, as NONE of them are covered on our plan. And as our taxes are in our computer, I can just press a button... The joys of having a computer geek husband.
Also, every scrap of relevant Malcolm records paper goes in one big box, so I can always find anything I want to relatively quickly by just digging in one place. But it's all just dumped in there, no file folders or any such organization...

Well, fortunately I didn't have to do the school stuff. This is for teh education dept diagnostic center forms. They will already have access to all his educational history so they didn't need that. Just outside stuff. Oh, and it had to be their addresses now, now when he saw them. Thank god for internet.
I should have kept my old calendars with dates because you had to list when you saw them. We would have this doctor we saw for this year then our insurance changed, or we moved and we saw that doctor. That doctor was useless so we saw a different kind of doctor. All told, not counting school personnel at all, I came up with developmental ped, 2 neurologists, 2 psychiatrists, OT and regional center people. Not too bad. It was alot of brainwork trying to remember the dates, etc. Thank god for computers.
Those are just the ones I listed. There were at least 2 others psychiatrists and one other psychologist that we saw but I ran out of release of info forms and those 3 were knuckleheads anyway.
At least it is done. That was my all day homework. lol.

OK I started this -for a laugh, but when I got into double digits -just on Speech Therapists (counting both kids), I got totally depressed and stopped. Peter is on his 4th school. He's only in 2nd grade!
Uh yi yi!!! And 15 more years to go until Siobhan is 21....
I'm going to check if my office window opens.

LOL paula,
I couldn't do school personel in with that. IT would make me crazy.
It is so bad they told me that Mike was getting another new autism specialist months ago. I didn't even remember that until I got a note from her a couple weeks ago and it was like "oh well, another one. maybe this one will last the entire end of the school year". I think we are on number 7 in the last 3-4 years.
