Here's the story Chase won runner-up honors for in the young authors contest for his second grade class. Mommy is so proud. I'm sure he'll be published(LOL) before 3rd grade. Vicky
Under Flood
By Chase Cissell
It was one morning when Lisa and Steven were about to go to their grandmother’s house. When they got to the subway they heard about a tube that could go underwater. They heard something on the subway. It was water! It was rushing toward them. The subway backed up faster and faster but it was no use. The tube had leaked! Lisa had an idea. She called the police officers. She told them the plan. She told the driver to set the subway train’s speed up higher. When they were close to the station Steven saw a ramp. “When I say take cover, take cover,” said Lisa. Then she yelled “Take Cover!”
The subway train went up on the ramp and went out of the ground. It landed in the park. Lisa and Steven were cheered to for saving the subway. Then they went home. But before they left they got Town Savior pins. When they got home Mom and Dad saw their pins. Before they could ask them, the doorbell rang. Someone gave them a newspaper.
It said “Lisa and Steven Save Lives!” Mom and Dad were very proud. They hugged Lisa and Steven.
