So I arrived at the hotel this morning to meet with Amy for coffee nd nope, she's not there. Btw: I'm 90 min late (blame mapquest...fume), and the fact that "hammond drive" is in the middle of nowhere,
The hotel refuses to give me Amys's room #. I "think" I overhear them say 801 so I arrive on the 8th floor and knock on the door; 'course 801 has a small balding smoke billowed Wallace Shawn type of guy.....needless to say not Amy. I give up and leave a note for her and dh. Call Paula (cause she may have Amy's #), Paula calls me back paniced from NY city but shje deosn't have Amy's cell # on her. We chat, but no Amy.
I give up (head between my legs) and then tonight i get a message from AMY!!!!!! Blame the mil's 'puter for the cell # screw up. I cal,l we shoot the breeze; we are meeting tomorrow to hang and I will get her to the airport. CAN"T WAIT!!!!!!
Dee

Catch and release...lol.
Yup, we had breakfast and gabbed for ages then I dropped her at the airport. Man she is sooooo f'n funny; I was in stitches. Oh and her mouth is dirtier than mine....well ok none can be flithier than mine. She so better move here;)
Dee
Sounds like a great time! I hope all went well with Amy's trip and planning moves and such.
At least you were on time this time!

First of all, DEE IS AMAZING!!! She's lovely, and sincere...and absolutely hysterical. And while yes, I do have a potty mouth, I am very capable of switching into the off-mode when around impressionable young ones. Since Dee hadn't brought the boys, I felt safe to left 'er rip around Roan. :-) Who, BTW, is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! She is gorgeous, happy, and as kissable as she looks in the photos.
I felt like poking my eye out with a fork when I realized I'd typed the wrong phone number on the email. (Stinkin' laptop!) When I didn't hear from Dee right away, I assumed that she got caught up with her mam and the rest of her crew, and so I refused to "bother" her. I hate bothering people and didn't want to see like a pest. I soooo should've called her! When she got to our hotel, I was less than 5 minutes away walking aimlessly around a mall!!!
Anyway...
Breakfast on Friday was lovely and Miss Dee saved my rear from having to spend about 12 hours at the airport. (DH had to take a flight to Houston, and I wasn't allowed to drive the rental car, so I was going to have to sit at the airport from 7 a.m. until my flight took off at 4 p.m.) I ended up sitting on the runway for almost 3 hours, and then DH's flight out of Houston was also delayed, so...ugh, I've had enough of airports for a bit.
Atlanta is fabulous, and that really sums up the experience. It is probably the prettiest "big city" I've ever been too...and the people are beyond friendly. Everybody smiles at each other, speaks to one another...it's just incredible.
