Yeah, due the 19th or 21st of Dec, depending on how you claculate it.

LOL, Wizard chess. He would love that. May work too.

However, the first chess game he played with Eli was a PS2 chess game. Very cool.

Yup, Eli is a keeper. In fact we take him with us to Mike's play therapist as his play buddy/typical peer. It has worked out great.

His teachers worked on checkers all last year. After a while he did finally get the concept and remembered all the rules. He still doesn't think ahead enough to have a real strategy and is too easy to beat but he can play a whole game.

A really REALLY great game is mancala too. They can do that one pretty well and it is fun.

What is really cool is finally in the last few months we can really play games as a family. Prior to that it was horrible for a whole host of special need issues. We have found the Cranium games are great for my kids. Short enough and simple enough that we all can play. Another good one is Clue. Mike was really digging that once we played a couple times and he got the idea of it.

Ya know what is really cool. A year ago playing games was added to Mike's IEP because even the ones he understood always ended up in a huge meltdown for one reason or another. Now he plays them pretty well. Had a slight set back but is playing them again. It is so great.
