Cian and spec ed preschool...

So I called the sped ed consultant teacher who is supposed to visit Cian at preschool (yes the now defunct and very closed preschool).
I wanted to know how Cian being home with me and not in a pre-school setting affected his IEP, (it's all centered around helping the teachers in the classroom). Well, she FINALLY acknowledged maybe Cian needs a spec ed preschool class, even for just a couple of days a week. She's going to call me back and let me know what the powers that be say. I would love it as even though he'll be(once again) the hf one there, he'll get something other than Mommy 24/7. The seced consult even acknowledged even though his play skills are really improving he is still very "rigid" in his thinking and how he communicates with others (ie: lots of grunting and shrieking and not so many words, although he does have them)....lol ya think???!!!
So I would be thrilled if he received a day or two of a spec ed class, just to get him developmentally to a point where MAYBE he can go to the GA pre-K class next year. It means he'll be 6 when he eventually does start Kindy, but barely and he needs the year.

Thats great Dee, I hope it works well. And you know I am a mother that always cringes when kids start school so early. You know, its like let them be babies just a little bit longer.

Keeping my fingers crossed that this all works out!

oh, i so hope she's able to make it all fall into place! and starting kindie at 6 isn't a big deal, we know lots of kids that waited who are not at all special needs.
