Cian had a play therapy session with the psychologist who is going to evaluate him (in two weeks). Seemed to go well; the doc commented that Cian was "very active" and that he saw a lot of what we had discussed in the meeting with dh and I. I asked about eye contact and he said he didn't see much...sigh. Then I was given four forms to fill in for the next appt. The Gilliiam Aspergers Disorder scale, The GARS-2, the BASC-2 and the Connor Parent rating scale, (Longversion. I've only ever seen the short version before).
So I've filled most of them out and have the raw scores but cannot figure oout how to desipher them. Anyone know how to do that, especially for the Gilliam Aspergers Disorder scale?
Btw: I cried (quietly) the car ride home.
Dee (not feeling very tough today)

Hi Sweetie,
Well all I can tell you is the only time I did the Aspergers one was with school. The first part I had all 4's (or the most strongest things on there, can't remember what it looks like really or how it scored) but on the other part with questions I had a friend who helped explain some things to me. I wrote in alot of detail. The school said he came out very high with Asperger's.
The first time I did the Gars (Autism one) the doc didn't explain it to me. So he scored low because I didn't understand most things. The second time.... The Doc at the REgional Center sat there and explained it to me and gave me examples so I could give more accurate answers...
I wish I knew how to decipher the scores, that would of been a great help to me, but unfortunantly I don't...

I'm not very good at deciphering those flippin' things either. But I am pretty good at cyber hugs, so I'll send a mess of 'em your way. I certainly understand the 'not feeling very strong today' statement.
