Cian saw the pdoc

So with all the ho ha about Cian and his placement I finally got the school psychologist involved in the IEP process. He agreed to do some testing to assess where Cian's issues stem from. There has been some confusion how much ASD, Adhd or anxiety is affecting his learning experience.

The testing came back (parent and teacher responses) and anxiety is through the roof. (His idiot teacher said depression but again note the adjective I used). We took Cian to Liam's pdoc (whom we adore) and after listening to me, Cian and reading the testing suggested we get the anxiety under control first. Cian's adhd is not like Liam's (heavy on the hyper)and is mainly inattentive, especially in the classroom. School is out in 2 weeks anayway.

So, we started on 20mg of prozac and this is day two. No side effects so far and as Liam does well on it I am hoping the same may be true for Cian. We are also thinking about play therapy as there is a certified play therapist in the pdocs clinic too. At least we are finally addressing his needs and it only took 9 months of bollocking to get there...sigh. Oh well, 2nd grade with another hand picked teacher; you never know.

I hope the Prozac does the trick.

Thanks,

I see no difference at home, but at home he's happy. His private OT today commented how his motor planning was more organized...perhaps!

I'm glad Cian is getting some help for the anxiety.
