Conference went "okay"

The conference with Alex's teacher, resource teacher, and resource aide went fairly well on Friday. Of course, as soon as I walked into his school, I ran into the other resource aide who immediately said that Alex had just had another 'incident'. Apparently, a 4th grader called Alex a name in the lunchroom, and Alex responded to it by spitting on the kid. Yikes. He once again forgot what he's supposed to do when he gets angry. All it takes is just a short, unstructured period in his day to lose it.
So the meeting actually started out with the cafeteria lady joining us, who said that Alex gets picked on and teased all the time in the lunchroom. Perfect timing; as that was my whole reason for this conference. So, to make a long story short, I pretty much made it clear that I will not tolerate Alex being teased because he's 'different', and that the school needs to incorporate stricter zero tolerance for bullying. I emphasized that his old school went out of their way to encourage kids to be kind to and to help the kids that are 'different' (for lack of a better word). I suggested that I would be more than happy to assist the guidance counselor in planning an informational meeting with a group of kids about Asperger's.
After two hours, I felt much better about the whole situation. Thank you all for your support in this. BTW, the principal handed me a fax she received about an Asperger's workshop coming up at a college about an hour away. I thanked her and also "reminded" her that it would be great if Alex's resource aide could sent to workshops such as this, at the school's expense, of course!
