To continue speech therapy or not

I am just wondering how long has your DS been receiving the therapy? Did he have the same speech problems when he was younger or did they evolve?

My DS who is 4 years old spoke early but also has a very slow speech and speaks with a strange accent. I am not sure whether his speach is getting better or worse and I am wondering whether this is a good time to start therapy.
