I have posted about the horrible and traumatic experience Haley had with the school last year. We had just moved here and her behavioral problems just exploded. We had the CSE meeting last month and chose to put Haley in the other elementary school in the district and add special ed services. We set up her IEP and sat back waiting for the school year to start.
School started last Tuesday here and so far it has been FANTASTIC! They decided to go ahead and pass her on to 4th grade. Haley is happy, looks forward to catching the bus in the morning and says she likes her teachers. She spends most of the day in the special ed class right now but may be weaned off of it slowly as she is able to cope more on her own.
For the past three days, she has gotten a perfect "score" for behavior in her special ed class and has done well completing her work. She's nervous about the work getting harder but she knows she will get help if she needs it. She is trying her best to do well this year. That makes me so happy!

What wonderful news! It sounds like this school is a good place for her. :)

wooo hoooo! I'm so happy for you and Haley! it's amazing what a difference a change of scenery and special helps will make in a child. I'm so glad the changes are working out well.
